Roof Repair Contractors
Speedy roof repair saves money
Even with the best roof maintenance, roof repair of the occasional leak is as common as it is frustrating. And it seems that no roof type, whether peaked or flat, metal or composition, is immune.
Because a dry house is a healthy house, the sooner you find a contractor to repair your roof, the better. Over time, unattended leaks can lead to serious structural damage, as well as mold and mildrew that can make you sick.
Finding the source of a leak can be a tricky business. Water can travel a considerable distance from the source of the leak to the location where you notice it in the house. For that reason, finding a qualified roofing repair contractor can save you time and money.
As with any roof repair, the contractor you select should have solid experience, all current licensing as required by your state, and valid insurance to cover liability and workers. A reputable contractor expects you to ask for copies of licensing and insurance, so even for small jobs, don't hesitate to ask for copies. At the same time, request references.
In addition to the various insurances, read the agreement to understand the nature and scope of warranties on workmanship and materials. If you have questions, make sure your contractor answers them clearly.
On small roof repairs, it may seem unnecessary to go through that much work, but think of this exercise as an interview for the roof tearoff you'll need in five years.
